Kinley Kovatch defends the net in last week’s JV action.

The Valier Junior High volleyball team went 1-2 in last week’s matches as they downed Sunburst but fell to Cascade and Simms.

The Panthers took down Sunburst 25-23, 25-18 on Tuesday.

“This was a real good game,” said coach Frances Boy. “The team worked really well together. We still have a few kinks we have to work on but other than that, I’m proud of how they worked together.”

Friday the Panthers took on Cascade and fell 25-7, 25-14 and Saturday the squad was thumped by Simms 25-8, 25-4.

“We need to make some major adjustments,” said Boy. “It wasn’t a very good pair of games for us.”

Head coach Rhanda EagleSpeaker went on to add that the Panthers have an extremely young team that is still learning to work together as a team and that will be the main focus for the upcoming week of practice.
