Teresa Layne is thrilled her daughter, Teanna, a senior at Valier High School, will be attending the University of Providence in Great Falls.

Teanna will not only be studying nursing but was also recruited to compete on the university’s rodeo team.

The University of Providence (UP) rodeo team announced last week the signing of Valier High School senior Teanna Layne.

Teanna has participated in the State Rodeo Finals all four years, the National High School Finals in 2017 and the Indian National Finals Rodeo in 2018.

“She brings a solid skill set, a hard work ethic and is just an all-around good person,” head coach Sylvan La Cross. “We’re trying to build that team unity filled with easy-going kids that will push each other. Those are the kids we’re looking for and we found one in Teanna.”

Teanna will graduate from Valier High School this spring. She plans on studying nursing upon attending UP in Great Falls in the fall.
