Valier Schools will be looking for a new superintendent for the 2021-22 school year. Julie Gaffney submitted her resignation to the school board earlier this month. Gaffney cited “personal reasons” for her resignation, which is effective June 30, 2021. The board accepted her resignation at their Jan. 12 meeting.
“I am hoping to find a position as a principal, teacher, or administrator in Montana or Washington,” responded Gaffney when asked about her future plans. “I am endorsed to teach English, History and Social Studies in grades 5-12, as well as an Elementary and Secondary Principal and K-12 Superintendent. My options are wide open.”
Gaffney continued, “I believe there is going to be a lot of movement in administration throughout both states, and I hope to find a position that will carry me to retirement - whenever that is!”
Gaffney said she has enjoyed her time in Valier, adding, “I do know that I really enjoy supporting students in any capacity that I can, and I plan to continue doing so.”
