Precinct committeemen and women will be elected during the June primary.  A Declaration For Nomination is required to be filed in the office of the Clerk and Recorder to appear on the June 2 ballot for a precinct committee position.  There is no filing fee and the filing period is Jan. 9 through March 9 at 5 p.m.

Precinct committeemen and women comprise the County Central committees which elect the county officers for the party and are involved in the County Central committee.

Any person interested in filing for a precinct committee position may do so by obtaining the proper forms from the Clerk and Recorder’s office located on the main floor of the county courthouse.  At the time of filing for office, the person must meet the requirements for the position.

If you would like more information about these positions, you are encouraged to contact the Chairs of the local central committees.  Ted Kronebusch serves as the Chair of the Republican Party Central Committee and Carey Monahan is the Chair for the Democratic Central Committee.

Anyone having questions relating to the elections is can also stop in the Clerk and Recorder’s office or call 271-4000 for more information.
