One of the joys of living in Montana is the wide-open spaces. One of the less enjoyable things about living in Montana? There is an extreme shortage of EMS providers in the rural areas of our state. When this happens, people who are in dire need of emergency medical services have to wait for extended periods of time before anyone arrives to help and take them to a hospital.
Are you a person of action? Do you desire to help people and give back to your community? Your chance is now! Logan Health and Conrad Ambulance is offering an EMT class that will start in mid to late October.
Classes will take place every Tuesday, Thursday and every other Saturday and includes extra study material to prepare you for the National Registry test. The cost is $375. If you pass and are hired by Logan Health, you can get $300 of that tuition reimbursed!
There is a saying in medicine that goes “time is muscle.” When our body’s cells do not get the nutrients they need, whether through a heart attack, stroke or maybe even a traumatic injury, the cells quickly begin to die. Once enough of the cells die, that particular organ system will fail, leading to death.
To put it bluntly, we need EMTs! We are only asking for one night a week and one weekend a month to make a difference in somebody’s life.
