According to the draft minutes of the Town of Valier Town Council meeting held on June 10, the Council took the following actions:

•Heard from Alderman Ray Bukoveckas and Alderwoman Norma Bukoveckas that they are not seeking re-election in the upcoming municipal election. Their terms end Dec. 31, 2019.

Approved the law enforcement contract with Pondera County. No language changes were made. The contract begins July 1, 2019 and will see an increase of three percent, to $58,710 annually. Beginning July 1, 2020, there will be another three percent increase to $60,471.30 annually. 

•Heard the Library Board of Trustees is looking forward to the Town repairing their parking lot. Ray Bukoveckas’ term as trustee is up June 30, 2019 and Mayor Glenn Wunderlich is looking for a replacement.

•Heard a report from Sheriff Robert Skorupa on May’s calls in Valier.

•Approved the following permission to build requests: Donald C. Schall, 326 Teton Ave., build a deck; and John Woldstad, 920 3rd Street, build a deck and storage shed.

•Approved the business license application for Brandon Norton, Norton Business Solutions (PBA Montana Wireless) 1639 5th Ave., Havre, MT 59501.

The next regular Town Council meeting will beheld on Monday, July 8 at 7 p.m. at the Valier Civic Center.
