Dupuyer proudly celebrates the birthday of renowned author, the late Ivan Doig, their favorite hometown celebrity. This year’s event was cancelled due to COVID 19.

Each year since his death in 2015, the Dupuyer Community Club has invited the public to a birthday party in honor of Ivan Doig’s birthday on June 27. Organizers regret that this year they are taking a hiatus with hope to resume the tradition in 2021.

Thanks to all who have supported this event for the past four years.  If you drive the Ivan Doig Memorial Highway on U.S. 89 this summer, stop in Dupuyer to visit the commemorative sheepherder’s monument.

“Join us in reading one of Ivan Doig’s books and check the website for the MSU Ivan Doig Archives this summer. Let it take you away from the stress of this time,” invites Mary Tonkovich of the Dupuyer Community Club.
