The run is set for Saturday, June 22 with registration starting at 7 a.m. and the walk/run at 8 a.m. at the Valier Elementary School. Runners or walkers may also register by emailing Green at cmgwrites@gmail.com

The entry fee for the run is a non-perishable food item or toiletries that will be donated to the new Valier Food Pantry.

The race will start and finish in the Valier Elementary School parking lot, located at 703 4th St. The course may change due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizers or to adjust for a true 5K event.

Green said prizes will be awarded to the top finishers and there will also be a drawing for door prizes. “It’s fun to walk away with something even if you’re not fast,” she grinned.
