Shelby High School senior Wyatt Brusven wrapped up his high school athletic career at the State Track and Field Meet in Kalispell last weekend. Brusven competed in five events and placed in three of them. He brought home fifth place finishes in the pole vault and triple jump and earned sixth place in the 110 hurdles.

The Shelby Track and Field team closed out the 2019 season at the State Class B Meet in Kalispell last weekend and Wyatt Brusven wrapped up an impressive Coyote athletic career by bringing home some individual hardware in his final competition.

Brusven placed in three individual events at State beginning with a fifth place finish in the pole vault, clearing 12-06 in the opening event. Brusven also placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 41-05 and sixth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.96. Brusven also competed in the long jump and recorded a distance of 19-03.75. Brusven, Rhett Reynolds, Logan Leck and Shaun Salveson competed in the 4x400 and recorded a time of 3:37.25. 

Reynolds finished eighth in the high jump, clearing 5-1 while Salveson competed in the 400 and 800, recording times of 54.65 and 2:06.93, respectively.

Salveson also competed in the 4x100 along with Tanner Parsons, Brock Stores and Eduardo Rojo Vizuete, ending their season with a time of 46.78.

Brook Luly set a personal record in the triple jump with a leap of 32-08.75 and also competed in the long jump (15-02.25) and 800 (2:31.13). Luly, Brogan McAllister, Brielle Aklestad and Allyson Bleecker recorded a 4:36.42 in their final race in the 4x400. 

Aklestad had a personal record of 105-07 in the javelin and Bleecker competed in both the 100 (13.62) and 200 (28.38) to close out the season.
