Shelby’s Bailey Johnson is one of 10 senior Lady Coyotes returning this season. Johnson was an all-conference performer for the Shelby girls a year ago.

The Shelby Coyotes return a senior laden squad as the 2019 volleyball season opens up, however they do have a new coaching staff led by head coach Jessica Brusven. Joining Coach Brusven will be Bridget Blevins, and Emily McDermott.

The Coyotes will return 10 seniors including second team all-conference players Bailey Johnson and Brook Luly. Joining them will be fellow classmates Alexis McCracken, Brielle Aklestad, Brogan McAllister, Avery Hoover, Reese Whitted, Kendall Anderson and Makayla Haight. Rachel Hould and Mary Sanchez will serve as managers.

Juniors on the team will be Adria Lamb, Audrey Nice, Maddison Underdal, Jaci Johannes, and Devny Lamb. Sophomores playing this year are Emma Taylor, Ambree Haight, Vivi McDermott, Brittney Moore, Taylor Schilling, and Blair Luly.

The Freshman class will have five players this year including Jori Clary, Elise Asper, Cianna Mellinger, and  Alizia Stevenson. Shelbee Correa will help as a manager.

Coach Brusven is excited to have a large group of returning players, and expects the conference to be a battle. Choteau and Fairfield are always tough, and Cut Bank has been working hard this summer. Coach Brusven has seen several good things in the two days of practice, but also sees opportunities for improvement.
