The Shelby Coyotes boys basketball team is preparing for the 2019-20 season. Coach Tom Reynolds’ Coyotes return six lettermen, including seniors Tanner Parsons and Tanner Watson, junior Logan Leck and sophomores Rhett Reynolds, Taylor Parsons, and Tanner Tustian.
Tanner Parsons, Leck and Rhett Reynolds are returning all-conference selections for the Coyotes. They will be joined by senior Laith Benhammou, juniors Kyler Cassel, Brendon Hagood, Kolten Henke, Kyle Peltier, and Teagan Tustian, and sophomores, Garrett Hansen, Kolby Lohr, and Aidan Torgerson.
Freshmen out this season include Tanner Deeble, Trenton Emerson, Austen Kluber, Bryce Lee, Caiden Moench, and Ryan Simpson.
Last year the Coyotes posted a 13-13 record and earned a trip to the state tournament.
Coach Reynolds will be assisted by Zachary Hayes. Mike White and Ryan McDermott are this year’s volunteer coaches.
The Coyotes will open their season on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Coyote Classic against Missoula Loyola at 7:15 p.m. Their second game of the tournament will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against Florence.
The junior varsity team will open against Malta at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12. They will play again on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m. against Missoula Loyola.
