Coyote football practice gets underway on Friday, Aug. 16, but before the season kicks off, Coyote football players of all ages are encouraged to attend Coyote Football Camp July 29-31. This camp is open to all athletes entering first through 12th grades and will take place on the SHS football field. The cost is $25 per camper, with a $5 per camper family discount being offered. Participants can sign up the day of camp or register early by mailing payment to Mike White, 505 5th Ave. S., Shelby, MT 59474. Please make checks payable to Mike White.
“The camp features outstanding personalized instruction by Shelby football coaches and current players,” said SHS head coach Mike White. “All campers will receive a T-shirt, daily Powerade will be provided and there will be contests and prizes awarded each day as well.”
Camp gets underway for boys and girls entering first through fifth grade at 5 p.m. and will wrap up at 6 p.m. Those entering sixth through eighth grade will take the field from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. and high school students from 7:45 until 9:30 p.m. Campers should wear shorts, t-shirt, football type shoes or tennis shoes. Athletes should be prepared for changes in the weather and also bring a sweatshirt, sunscreen, etc.
According to Coach White, the goals of camp are to improve football fundamentals, techniques and speed/agility training, to strengthen athlete confidence and develop player leadership skills, practicing high-quality sportsmanship and to provide a positive experience in hopes to enhance the player’s enjoyment of the game.
The camp is open to anyone interested in playing football, boys and girls. For more information or questions contact White at (406) 470-0627 or by email, email@example.com.
