Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 12, as the Shelby Recycling Association is celebrating Shelby Recycles Day! The group invites everyone to begin gathering recyclables now. Recycling Association members will be at the recycling site located at 514 1st St. North, behind the Subway restaurant and Northern Transit bus barn on Wednesday, June 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. Members will assist with aluminum, tin, paper and cardboard drop-offs, and collect specialty items, including batteries, household and vehicle, paint cans and ink cartridges. The ink cartridges will go to Mrs. Tokerud to assist with pet food/supply purchases for the animals students care for as part of zoology classes.

In addition, members will give away recycling bags and those wishing to recycle paper may take home a recycle paper bin. The Shelby Recycling Association hopes to conduct another special recycling event at the end of summer.

The group reminds you to REDUCE – REUSE – RECYCLE!
