It’s Homecoming week in Coyote Country! Homecoming sporting events are already underway. The Coyote cross country team hosted their home meet on Monday afternoon. Up next on the Homecoming game line-up is Lady Coyote volleyball, which will take place on Thursday, starting at 4:15 p.m., against the Choteau Bulldogs. The Homecoming football game is slated to start at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, with the Coyotes vying for a win over Centerville.
This year’s theme is “Decades,” featuring the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Students dressed as their future, career selves on Monday for “Future So Bright” and twinned it up on Tuesday for “Twin Day.”
Today, Wednesday, is Western Day and students were encouraged to don their western apparel. Today the freshman class, with the assistance of the seniors, will participate in the time-honored tradition of painting the “S.”
Thursday is “Decade” and each class has a decade they were assigned to dress as. The seniors will flashback to the 70s, the juniors will rock the 80s, the sophomores the groovy 60s and the freshmen will relive the 90s for a day. Friday is the day to boast your school pride by wearing maroon and gold.
Friday is also Coronation of the Homecoming king and queen. Coronation will take place in the SHS auditorium at 12:45 p.m. Elementary students will be dismissed at 2:15 on Friday and junior high and high school students will finish up preparing for the Homecoming parade that will take place at 3 p.m. on Main Street.
There will be a junior high football game following the parade, starting at 4:30 p.m. From 5-7 p.m. the Kiwanis and Key Club will host the Homecoming tailgate party at Aronow Park. There will be a Homecoming dance following the football game until midnight.
It’s Homecoming week, let your Coyote pride show and support maroon and gold!
