What goes hand in hand with warm summer evenings? Ice cream socials, of course! On Thursday, June 21, from 6 to 7 p.m., the Toole County Library Board will have an ice cream social and game night at the library in Shelby. All are encouraged to come join in the fun, have some treats and if you don’t already have one, get a library card!
On Tuesday, June 26, from 5-8 p.m., the Marias Museum will host their annual ice cream social, on the grounds of the main building. Ice cream and all the fixings will be available to all at no charge, but donations are welcome. While enjoying a cool treat in the company of friends those attending will also be treated to toe-tapping tunes by the Schwindt Family and Friends, featuring guitars, mandolins and fiddles and music from days gone by.
For those interested in playing a bigger part in Marias Museum affairs and preserving Toole County history there is a board position coming open. The Marias Museum of History and Art in Shelby will hold their 2018 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m. An election of board members will be held at that time, any Toole County citizen is eligible to fill the position. Incumbents are Annette Freeland, Harriet Karst, Charlotte Hanson and Carol Mundt. Hanson has chosen to not continue.
A couple of family-fun evenings worth coming out for, mark your calendars and come enjoy some ice cream and entertainment with others in the community on Thursday, June 21, at the Toole County Library, and again at the Marias Museum on Tuesday, June 26!
