Have an idea that would benefit the community? Have you noticed something that could be improved upon or is needing to be done? The City of Shelby will hold a public hearing on Monday, Feb. 3, at 6:30 p.m., at City Hall, for the purpose of obtaining public comments in regards to the City’s overall community development needs, including the needs of low and moderate income persons.

Not only is public comment welcome, it is needed in order to decide what needs to be done and to apply for grant funding through the Montana Community Development Block Grant Program, a federal funding administered by the Montanan Department of Commerce, and other state and federal programs available. There are funding sources to help with local housing, public facilities and other community needs throughout the year.

Comments will be received at the hearing or can be submitted in writing prior to Feb. 3, 2020. Anyone who would like more information or would like to submit a comment can contact Mayor Gary McDermott at (406) 434-5222.
