The District 10-C Tournament kicks off today (Wednesday) at the Shelby High School Gymnasium. The Refiner boys basketball team finished fourth in conference play and open with Power at 4 p.m. while the girls’ squad finished seventh and will follow the boys game as they tip off against Simms at 5:30. 

Six opening round games will be played on Wednesday beginning with girls action when top seeded Augusta takes on eighth seed Dutton/Brady at 9 a.m. Fourth seeded Power and fifth seed Valier will follow at 10:30 and the top seeded Simms boys basketball team will take on eighth seed Augusta at noon. 

Sunburst/Power boys open the second session of Wednesday hoops at 4 p.m. followed by the Sunburst/Simms girls game at 5:30. Third ranked Cascade will round out the opening day with a game against Heart Butte at 7 p.m.

Thursday’s action will tip off at 9 a.m. with a pair of girls loser out games before the boys opening round game featuring second seeded Cascade taking on seventh seed Valier at noon. Heart Butte takes on Dutton/Brady in the final opening round game at 4:00 before the girls semifinals round out the day at 5:30 and 7. 

Friday features a pair of boys loser out games at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. before girls loser out games at noon and 4. The boys semifinals will follow at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Saturday opens with the final two boys loser out games of the tournament at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The girls consolation will tip off at 3 p.m. followed by the boys at 4:30 p.m. The girls championship is slated for 6 p.m. while the boys will follow at 7:30 p.m. 

The top three boys and girls teams will advance to the Northern C Divisional Tournament in Great Falls on Feb. 26-29.
