The holiday events may be fewer this year, but everyone is invited to join in on some holiday cheer during the Marias River Electric and Shelby Gas Association Annual Light the Night parade taking place on Sunday, Dec. 6, starting at 6 p.m. on Main Street in Shelby.

Businesses, groups and individuals are invited to join in the fun by entering a float in the parade with a chance to win the $50 grand prize and the traveling trophy. There will be a grand prize given for the winning business entry and for the winning group/individual entry. Anything that lights up is accepted!

Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. To register in advance simply call Marias River Electric at (406) 434-5575. Registrants will receive a number for judging and those registering the day of the event need to do so by 5:30 p.m. at the old Catholic School. No throwing of candy will be allowed and parade entrants should keep at least five car lengths between them.

Social distancing for spectators will also be encouraged for community health and safety, either watching from a vehicle or wearing a mask if watching outdoors from the sidewalk.

For any questions, more information or to register contact the office at (406) 434-5575.
