The May trip winners for Toole County Health Foundation’s Trip of the Month fundraiser were Brooke and Jared Weishaar! They will be traveling to Portland, Ore., in the fall. They had a family trip to Oregon planned for the spring, but with the COVID-19 crisis they had to cancel their plans. This is a welcome trip after that disappointment!

Brooke and Jared recently moved to Shelby, though Jared had been born and raised in Shelby. When they heard about the Health Foundation, they wanted to contribute to it and the Trip of the Month was a perfect way. With their luck though, they won the second trip!

While this trip will be a relaxing break from work and their three busy kids, they will stop by to visit Brooke’s family nearby. They will also enjoy the included excursion to tour the Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls.

“The best part of the fundraiser is that we are able to donate to the community with a chance to win something in return,” said Brooke and Jared.

It’s a simple fundraiser in which only 300 tickets are sold, at $150 apiece, and each month two drawings take place. The first drawing is for a trip and the second for $150. Tom and Lorette Carter were the $150 winners for May and they turned it back around and purchased a 2021 ticket.

The next trip is for San Francisco and you could win it! We are selling tickets throughout the year until we reach 300. If you’re a little nervous about traveling remember that you do not need to take the trip right away. You have a full year to book your trip and have the choice of either $1,000 travel voucher or $750 cash.
