The Shelby Community Garden received a check for $250 from the Shelby Elks BPOE #1696. The check was presented by Diana Raymond, who is a member of Shelby Elks BPOE #1696. The funds were made possible by a grant from the National Elks and was given to the community garden to help them provide produce for the community.

The Shelby Community Garden is very appreciative of this gracious gift from the Shelby Elks and will be using the money to purchase hand tools.

Just in case you would like to know a little more about the Shelby Community Garden, here we go. Gardeners choose either Organic, or larger  (Pumpkin plots), or tires. You can have a few if you want and the cost is minimal, ranging from $10 to 25.

If you are interested please call 450-0180 and leave a message. You will be gardening in no time! We still have plots, so there is still time... call.

In previous years members have filled the unassigned plots and donated the produce to the community, to the food bank, thanks Zane Zell, and also the Pumpkin Project, thanks Kyle Koschmeder. These guys are very knowledgeable and always willing to help!

So, please call as soon as possible if gardening interests you, the plots are tilled and ready to go now!
