Nothing says spring like gardening, so MSU Extension Pondera County is partnering with Marias Greenhouse to bring you some spring gardening classes to help your garden be the best it can be! Each class will start at 6 p.m. at Marias Greenhouse in Conrad. Classes will be free but be prepared to pay for the plants and supplies you choose during the workshop.

The first workshop will be on vegetable gardening on Thursday, April 25. In this workshop you will learn how to plan and care for your vegetable garden. We will go through types of vegetables that grow well in northern Montana gardens and when to start planting. Lynne Knobel of Marias Greenhouse will share her expertise in starting plants from seed and give you some tips on getting plants growing.

Back by popular demand is the Mother’s Day Succulent Workshop on Thursday, May 9. This workshop is the perfect way to get in some bonding time with Mom, make her a Mother’s Day present, or just plant an arrangement to enjoy in your home. Succulents are very popular right now and Lynne has a variety of interesting containers and succulents in her greenhouse just waiting for you to plant them!

Finally, on Thursday, June 6 there will be a moss basket arrangement workshop. Moss can make any flower basket look more interesting.

To sign up for one, two, or all three of these workshops, call 271-4054 or email pondera@montana. edu.
