Live and in-person, it’s back! The Marias Museum Gingerbread Creation Contest and Open House will be open to the public and taking place at the Marias Museum Annex on Sunday, Dec. 12, from 4-7 p.m. Last year’s event took place virtually and all involved in organizing the function are happy to be welcoming everyone back to an in-person event.

This year’s theme is “Hard Candy Christmas” with an entry deadline of Friday evening, Dec. 10, between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. Every participant is requested to please have their entry registered and to the annex no later than 6 p.m. on Dec. 10.

All entries, other than the decorated cookies, must reflect the theme in some way. Entries need to be on a movable base no larger than 20”x20”. The entries will be arranged into categories for individuals and groups.

There are three categories to choose from, you can pick just one or enter a creation in all three. The first is the Traditional Gingerbread. The entry must be comprised of at least 50 percent gingerbread and can be a house, barn, train, whatever one decides to create.
