The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 at the Shelby Civic Center. There are 45 people with appointments and an expected turnout of 68 donors.

Appointments are recommended and walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can be made on line at www.redcrossblood or by calling 800-733-2767.

The most recent blood drive in Shelby was Dec. 8, with 46 units collected from 50 registered donors. There were three first-time donors registered. Glen and Nathan Benjamin set up and cleaned up the workspace. Marlene Howery, Bonnie Wiegand and Helen Suta helped with registrations.

Thank you Shelby area volunteers for their work and donors who ensure patients are able to receive the life-giving blood they urgently need.
