Gloria Jean Siebrecht, 80, passed on Nov. 14, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Community Bible Church in Cut Bank, Mont.
Gloria was born Dec. 27, 1940, in Columbia Falls, Mont. Her parents were James Baily Schnee and Marie Van De Rite. Gloria was the youngest of six children. She met Odell and was married on Feb. 27, 1959, and they made Cut Bank their home. They were blessed with two sons.
Gloria was a member of the First Presbyterian church where she served as an elder, choir member, belonged to women’s circles and was a Sunday school teacher.
Gloria was an amateur paleontologist and volunteer for the Museum of the Rockies. She discovered the Avisaurus Gloriae which was named for her.
She loved to build puzzles and had one on her table at all times. She also enjoyed golfing, camping, boating, water skiing and snowmobiling. Odell and Gloria enjoyed going south for the winter in their retired years.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, James Schnee and Marie Kenyon; stepdad, Otis “Doc” Kenyon; brothers J.B. Schnee and Harley Schnee; sisters Shirley Asbury, Idabelle Bittner and Betty Loyette Cummings; and twin great granddaughters, Amelia and Adelyn Jensen.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years Odell Siebrecht; sons Jerald (Lorrie) Siebrecht and Jeffery Siebrecht; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Great Falls Rescue Mission in her name.
