Patrick Thomas Evans passed away Aug. 11, 2020, at the Ivy in Great Falls, Mont. Services were held at Foster Funeral Home chapel in St. Ignatius, Mont., on Aug. 15 with a memorial meal following the service.

A proud member of the Blackfeet Tribe, he was born in Hamilton, Mont., to Henry and Irene Evans on Aug. 15, 1951. An easy-going soul, he enjoyed basketball in his younger years and traveled extensively throughout the Northwest making friends everywhere he went.

He attended Kicking Horse and then Manpower in Ronan. He worked for several construction companies, was a firefighter and sawyer for the Shoshone Bannock Strike Team and in the Challis National Forest as well as the Sun Valley, Idaho area.

Patrick married twice; first to Mary Jane Shawl and then to R. Evelyn Felix.

He leaves behind his children Joel R. Evans of Ronan, Mont.; Ima A. Evans of Fort Hall, Idaho; Irene Buchanan of Missoula, Mont.; and Karen Johnson of Webster, Wis.; his grandchildren Lavea M. and Courage J. Evans, Randa Evans and Roper RunningCrane; sisters Carmelita Black Crow of Hays, Mont., and Mary Evans of Polson, Mont.

He will be greeted by those who went before him, including his son Ryan, his parents, sister and brothers.

Patrick always made children feel at ease around him. He was a man whose presence made all the children feel that he was their grandfather and they called him “Grandpa’ shortly after knowing him. He will be truly missed.
