Shannon D. Wippert, 47, passed away at Alberton, on Saturday, July 20, 2019, just short of his 48th birthday of July 22.
A wake was held at the Stickgame Arbor in Browning. Rosary was recited Wednesday, July 24 and funeral services were at the Church of Little Flower Thursday, July 25. Burial was at Willow Creek Cemetery.
He was born in Browning in 1971 to his mother Darlene Wippert.
Shannon married the love of his life, Tamara K. (Crabb) Wippert on Aug. 7, 2008. He was raised and attended school at Browning. While attending Browning High he was a champion wrestler. He chose an adventurous life of ranching, then followed his passion of fast horses and became an Indian Relay Rider and Jockey. His jockey life has led him all around the U.S. and Canada, meeting hundreds of people along the way, leaving a lasting impression on each individual he met.
Some of his hobbies and interests included bridle braiding, cooking, playing cards and fishing. He always enjoyed a good book and was an avid reader. Shannon is known for his endless story telling. His humorous spirit was kept intact by a constant prank, followed by an unforgettable laugh. He loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, most importantly having fun, teasing and laughing.
He is survived by his wife Tamara K. (Crabb) Wippert; mother Darlene Wippert; and one brother Shawn Wippert; daughters, Mandie (Aaron) Disbrow and Shawness L. Church; four grandchildren: Avery, Mason, Dylan and Oakley Disbrow; nieces, Shaunell, Jayce and Jade Wippert; nephew, Justin Wippert; one great niece Blakely Murray; and many family and friends that loved him.
Shannon is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Henrietta Wippert Sr.; Aunts, La Dean Rutherford, Ramona Wellman and Marlene Wippert; Uncles, George Jr., Verlin, Alvin and Johnny Wippert; and one son by marriage, Caleb M. Church.
