Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, Brandon Dale Galbreath of Kiowa, Mont., on the Blackfeet Reservation, passed away at the age of 24.
A funeral service was held Nov. 10, 2020 at the family home. Burial took place at the Galbreath Family Ranch at Kiowa, Mont.
Born July 16, 1996, he was raised on his family ranch in Kiowa as well as in Chicago, Ill., with his mother. He was an active varsity athlete in football and basketball for William Fremd High School in Chicago. He moved back to Montana his senior year and continued his athletics at Browning High School, graduating in 2014.
Known for his amazing quarterback abilities in football, he was voted Great Falls Tribune Athlete of the Week. He was also known for quickness in defense in basketball. He went on to college at the University of Montana-Missoula where he joined the rodeo team.
Brandon was an accomplished saddle bronc rider at rodeos throughout Montana where he racked up victories and made many friends along the way. He was a music lover and loved to sing. His kindness and personality were well known. He was what people called a Golden-Hearted Cowboy.
He is survived by his parents Daisy (Galbreath) and Adam Horseman; grandparents Dexter Blu and Myrna (Juneau) Galbreath; brothers Dylan (Mariely) Galbreath, Roper and Reed Horseman; sisters Jerika (Jordan) Tatsey and Trista Essert, fiancée Allyson Running Crane, nephew Brixton Wagner, godchild Kensley Old Chief, and his many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother Ethyl Sissy Grant, an aunt Tana Galbreath, uncles Roper Galbreath and Alvin DogTakingGun and his cousin Reuben Rattler.
