Lisa Loendorf of Valier, Mont., passed away on April 28, 2020, after a brief hospitalization at Pondera Medical Center in Conrad, Mont. Per Lisa’s request, there will be no services.
Lisa was born Agnes Lisa Marie Peterson to her Swedish mother, Hedvig Frideborg Peterson and father, Edward LaVerne Peterson, on Oct. 13, 1949, in Conrad.
Lisa graduated from the University of Montana with a Political Science major and shared her political views, with vigor, throughout her life. There, she met her cherished husband, Ronald Leonard Loendorf. They were married in Valier in January 1976, and farmed north of town. To this union were born two sons, Vincent Ronald and Quin LaVerne.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and beloved son, Quin, who died in August 2011.
Quin’s special friend, Katie Boumans, wrote for us all, “I’m torn, I’m so heartbroken, but it is bittersweet. I’m sure that reunion had to be one for the books.”
Lisa is survived by her son, Vincent, of Great Falls; several cousins, (who included her as an extended sibling) in the United States and in Sweden; Ron’s caring family and many kind friends.
Lisa will be remembered for her generosity and “that sneaky little grin and her words of wisdom,” shared her special, lifelong pal, Bonnie Norsby Kronebush.
Memorials in Lisa’s name may be made to the Valier Education Foundation, where she established scholarships in memory of Ron and Quin. Lisa hated for any senior to go without a scholarship.
