Wanda Lee Husman died Monday, Jan. 23, 2023 in Albuquerque, N.M. at the age of 81.

Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 9, 2023, at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, N.M., 87124. Rosary will be recited on Feb. 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, N.M. 87124. Funeral Service will follow the rosary at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Road, SE, Rio Rancho, N.M. 87124. Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 10, 2023, at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, N.M. 87124. After the burial, a reception will be held starting at 12:15 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Father De Arco Hall, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124.

Wanda was born on Feb. 24, 1941 in Nevada City, Calif. to Mary Emma De Bray and Robert Bruce Chidester.

Wanda is preceded in death by her father, Robert Bruce Chidester, her mother Mary Emma De Bray Chidester, her brothers George Arwin Chidester and John Marshall Chidester, her half-brother Billy “Red” Klein, her husband, Vern Husman, and her niece Sharon Moseley.

Wanda is survived by her daughters Heidi Lynn Husman and Stephanie Clare Husman, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; her son Bruce Wade Husman, Albuquerque, N.M.; her sister in Montana, two nephews and a niece in Montana; her nieces Betty Jean Bains-Jordan (John) and Roseanne De Witt, both of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren Hayden and Morgan Husman; great grandchildren Ezra and Riley Husman, and her beloved pets, Bear and Rogue.

Wanda graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1959. She married Vern Lynn Husman on May 10, 1963, in Indianapolis, Ind. and they were married for 33 years.

Wanda attended El Paso Community College and received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1984. Wanda worked for the State of New Mexico for 12 years. She loved reading and playing bingo. She was an active and dedicated member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church Ave Crux, Spes Unica.
