Lillian Jean (Stokes) Stratman, 84, of Shelby, Mont. was called to the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 17, at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby.
Lillian was born to David and Helen (Gillis) Stokes on Oct. 17, 1935, in Valier, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She then moved to Shelby with her older sister, Doris, and there she met the love of her life, Gerald Stratman. They married on Oct. 17, 1955, in Valier, and together had five children.
Lillian worked very hard for many years as a waitress and taking care of many dear friends, but most importantly, her husband and family. She enjoyed playing marbles with her sister, Charlotte, and brother-in-law, Robert Kovatch, Sr. Playing cards was always a fun way to spend time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Lillian enjoyed playing Bingo with many family and friends and loved taking care of her flower garden.
Lillian lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed a day checking to make sure they were doing okay.
Survivors include her children, Gerald Jr. (Barb) and Eugene, both of Shelby; Leta (Lynn Sr.), of Bow Island, Alberta; Helen (Mike) and Rodney (Christine), both of Shelby; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grand-children; many nieces and nephews.
She is in eternal rest with her husband, Gerald Sr.; son-in-law, Rodney Kienenberger Sr.; three brothers, Samuel, Frank, and Dan; a sister, Doris (Dodson) Hansell; nieces and nephews; and brothers and sisters-in-law, whom she was very close.
