Owen Leroy Bowker, 88, of Cut Bank, Mont
., passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at his home with loved ones by his side. Celebration of Life Services will be held in the summer for family and friends.
Owen was born on Jan. 12, 1933, in the family home in Palermo, No. Dak., that he fondly referred to as “the little old shack along the railroad track.” He was the son of Louis and Stella Bowker and was married to Gertrude Bowker for 38 years.
Owen was raised in a family of nine children: three brothers and five sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Owen was a longtime resident of Cut Bank for 56 years. He worked in the oil and gas industry and was employed by Phillips Petroleum for 24 of those years until his retirement where he remained a resident of Cut Bank.
He is survived by two sons, Gary, and his wife Cheryl, of Rudyard, Mont., and David, and his wife, Kim of Helena, Mont.; four daughters, Karen Omsberg and her husband, Ron, of Boise, Idaho, Sandra Johnson and her husband, Tom, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Rita Bowker of Billings, Mont., and Juanita Burson and her husband, Craig, of Breckenridge, Colo; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
