The Lady Indians basketball team won their sole game of the week on Friday, Feb. 7, topping Cut Bank by 22 points, 54-32.
Coach Ray Augare noted his team couldn’t seem to get started in the first half, but became more patient in the second half. He said Abby Bullcalf and Tamika Guardipee are beginning to work together under the net, making them a force on the court.
Dulci Skunkcap and Tamika Guardipee led the way with 12 points, followed by Walker Running Crane with 11, Chalissa Kipp seven, Abby Bullcalf six, Skyla Wells four and Kelsey Mad Plume with two points.
This week, the going gets tougher as the Lady Indians travel to Havre on Friday, Feb. 14, where the freshmen start at 3, JVs at 4:30 and the varsity plays at 6 p.m. Then, racing back home, they host Columbia Falls on Parents Night, Saturday, Feb. 15. Freshmen start off at 1 p.m., JVs at 2:30 and the varsity plays at 4 p.m.
Coach Augare said this game will determine who comes out on top of Northwestern A. If Browning carries the day, they’ll be first in the conference, but if Columbia Falls wins by more than a point, they’ll be in the number-one spot.
