A teacher at Browning High School, Mary Jo Bremner was notified recently that her application and recommendations from others had been accepted at Governor Steve Bullock’s office. As a result, Bremner now begins a seven-year term on the Montana Board of Public Instruction.

Noting it’s the first time she’s served in public office, Bremner said she’d seen that no Native American voice was present on the Board, and she thought with her many years’ experience teaching in Blackfeet Country, she could be an asset to their process.

The Board meets four times per year, and her membership includes a seat on the board of the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind.
