All three Commissioners were on hand for the Jan. 29 meeting at the Satellite Office in Browning.. DUI Task Force Coordinator, Eileen Galbreath was on the agenda, but she postponed her appearance due to illness.

Mike Wikstrom arrived to ask about plowing on the Heart Butte Cut Across Road. Commissioner Michael DesRosier noted a public meeting had not been held on the County’s assuming possession of about a mile and a half of the route. “That shouldn’t be a game changer; we could do that after we’ve started plowing,” he stated.

Commissioner John Overcast said there was a concern that the item hadn’t been put in the budget, “even though the money is there.”

Plowing in the winter, according to DesRosier, wouldn’t be the expensive part; that will come in the spring when the road will be graveled and improved. In the end, the Commissioners agreed they should talk with Roads Supervisor John Evans to see where things stand.

Finally, the Commissioners voted to approve the last item on the agenda, cancelling the Feb. 11 meeting in Browning to attend the annual MACo Conference.
