Montana’s acclaimed writer, Ivan Doig (1939-2015), is honored each year on his birthday by the Dupuyer community with Doig Day in Dupuyer . . . birthday cake included! This year’s celebration is set for Thursday, June 27, from 2-4 p.m., at the Dupuyer Community Hall.

Organizers have planned a birthday party and program to celebrate Ivan Doig and his writing on the occasion of his 80th birthday year.

Come see and hear the music and culture of 1939 as well as Doig’s coming-of-age novels. The featured books this year are The Bartender’s Tale and Last Bus to Wisdom.

Dupuyer is the oldest Montana community on Highway 89 on the Rocky Mountain Front, and is located north of Choteau and south of Browning.
