Both Browning wrestling teams, girls and boys, hosted Polson at a home dual on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Tipi Dome in Browning.

The stands were full of families, fans and friends as the teams introduced their special guests on the final home meet of the season.

Many dual matches were wrestled, and open weight classes featured intramural contests.

It was the final event before they all head to Polson this weekend for Western A Divisional competition that will decide who among them will advance to state in Billing the following week.

“I’m pretty excited to see how many of our young wrestlers can step up and qualify for state,” Coach Casey McDonald said. Heavyweight Brendyn Whiteman is ready to go, McDonald said, and so are Tahj Wells and Pita Fish.

“We’re off to Polson this weekend for the first-ever, all-girls divisionals,” Coach Mike Burns said. “It should be quite interesting to see who gets to punch their tickets to state, and I’m excited to see how the ladies perform this weekend as they have been putting in some grueling hours of hard work.”

The action in Polson begins on Friday, Feb. 3, and runs through Saturday, Feb. 4.
