Blackfeet Community College will commemorate the Bear River Massacre on its campus on Friday, Jan. 20. BCC President Dr. Brad Hall will welcome attendees. This year, presenters will discuss the historic nature of Bear River as well as the resiliency of Blackfeet People. The commemoration will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Beaver Painted Lodge Commons.

A workshop entitled “Bear River: Blackfeet Trauma and Resiliency Series” for early childhood educators will also run concurrent to the commemoration. The workshop will take place at Yellow Bird Woman Lodge 135.

A site visit for those taking part in the commemoration and workshop will occur on Saturday, Jan. 21. People will gather at BCC at 9 a.m. and then travel to the Bear River Site.
