Travelers and residents of East Glacier Park have no doubt noticed the iconic Bear Track Travel Center being shuttered. Apart from fueling via debit/credit cards, the convenience store has temporarily closed until the Blackfeet Tribe is ready to reopen.

“The Blackfeet Tribe is recruiting a manager,” K Webb Galbreath said.

“We have a couple offers to run it in the interim.”

While Siyeh Development often runs tribally owned businesses, Galbreath said the Tribe itself has purchased the property and took possession on Friday, Oct. 1.
