For the first time in years, Glacier County will be holding a public hearing on its preliminary budget and members of the public will have access to copies of the preliminary budget beginning today, Wednesday, Aug. 14.

A copy of the budget is available at the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, which is located on the second floor of the Glacier County Courthouse, 512 East Main, Cut Bank. It may also be viewed online on the Glacier County website’s home page, www.glaciercountygov.com.

Glacier County Clerk and Recorder Mandi Kennerly submitted the preliminary budget hearing notice to this newspaper on Friday, Aug. 9. (See inside this week’s issue.)

The preliminary budget hearing begins at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26. According to the notice, which was signed by Glacier County Commission Chairman Michael DesRosier, county residents and taxpayers are encouraged to attend and “be heard for or against any part of the budget.”

The hearing will be held day-to-day until the final budget is adopted by resolution.
