Cut Bank senior Aryana Black looks to score in the paint against Browning’s Tatum Running Crane during Friday night hoop action in Cut Bank.

The Cut Bank Lady Wolves fell to Class A Browning and conference rival Choteau last weekend. The local cagers will play their final two regular season games this week before hosting the District 1-B Tournament next week, beginning Wednesday. 

Friday against non-conference foe Browning, the Lady Wolves trailed 13-9 after the first quarter. Cut Bank scored just five points in the second stanza but limited Browning to eight and the Lady Wolves trailed 21-14 at the break. Cut Bank was outscored 11-7 in the third quarter and Browning led 32-21 going into the final eight minutes. Browning scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to take the 54-32 victory. 

Sam Burke led the way with 11 points followed by Sienna Spotted Bear with eight. Jada Rides At The Door scored five points, Aryana Black and Sadie Pepion scored three each and Aliyah Cruz rounded out the scoring with two. 

Saturday the Lady Wolves took on Choteau and trailed 13-10 after the first quarter. Cut Bank was outscored 16-14 in the second stanza and trailed 29-24 at the half. Cut Bank scored 12 points in the third quarter and cut the Choteau lead to 39-36 going into the fourth. Cut Bank managed just six points in the final eight minutes and Choteau ran away with the 58-42 victory. 

Spotted Bear led the offense with nine points followed by Black with eight. Burke scored seven, Rides At The Door had five, Pepion and Jackie Waller scored four points each, Cruz tallied three and Hannah Fetters rounded out the scoring with two points. 

The Lady Wolves limited their turnovers against the Bulldogs, but shot just 15-52 from the floor and 11-23 from the charity stripe in the loss. 

Cut Bank will travel to Shelby on Friday to face their rivals down the road with tip off slated for 6 p.m. Saturday the Lady Wolves will host Great Falls Central with tip off slated for 4 p.m.
