The Cut Bank Lady Wolves picked up a much needed conference victory last week as they swept Great Falls Central. The local spikers were also slated to play Browning on Saturday but that game was postponed.
Cut Bank won the opening game with Central 25-20 and followed that up with wins of 25-19 and 25-14 to complete the sweep.
Brianne Murphy led the squad with five aces, four kills and three assists. Sienna Spotted Bear led the Lady Wolves’ defense with 19 digs to go along with four aces and three kills. Jackie Waller also notched double digit digs with 12 while Camille Bradley tallied six assists and four aces. Kendall Hibbs hammered home three kills and Erin Schmidt blocked two Mustang attacks.
“Sienna Spotted Bear had an amazing game,” said head coach Chelsey Brown. “She dug up some pretty tough tips and never let the ball beat her out of bounds. This win was crucial not only for our team dynamic but for the season. We have played every one in the district once and now we look forward to playing them a second time.”
The Lady Wolves host Choteau on Thursday, Oct. 8, with games starting at 4:15 p.m. The Lady Wolves will not travel to Rocky Boy on Saturday but will host Power for JV and varsity matches starting at 10 a.m.
