The weather was perfect for 11 Cut Bank Sharks swimmers who traveled to compete at the Columbia Falls Invitational this past weekend. There were a total of 14 teams and 253 swimmers in attendance.
Three Cut Bank girls had an outstanding weekend. Stefani Bohmer scored points for the Sharks in the 13-14 age group as she placed 5th in the 50 fly, 5th in the 200 freestyle, and 3rd in the 100 fly with a time of 1:43:26.
Dafani Bohmer placed in all three of her events in the 11-12 age group, including 7th in the 50 breaststroke, 5th in the 50 freestyle, and 3rd in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:29:35.
Avonlea Andersen dropped time in both of her events on Sunday. Avonlea took 10th place in the 50 freestyle and 4th place in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 47.08.
Cut Bank male stand-outs were Latham Johnson and Dalton Estey. Latham scored 22 points for the Sharks as he placed 7th in both the 50 breaststroke with a time of 57.19 and 50 backstroke with a time of 1:03:52. Dalton Estey scored 21 points with a 5th place finish in the 50 backstroke with a time of 1:36:58.
Azaria Johnson, a 9-10 age group swimmer, and Liana Johnson, an 11-12 age group swimmer, attended their first meet of the season and after getting past their nerves, did amazingly well for their first meet, competing in the freestyle and backstroke. Madison Bird placed 11th in the breaststroke and Kori Pascoe made it as an alternate in the 50 breaststroke.

Senior Boys: Carl Estey: 50 Fly 4th place and 400 Free 6th place; Dalton Estey: 50 Free 6th place, 100 Free 7th place and 100 Back 5th place.
Intermediate Girls: Stefani Bohmer: 50 Fly 5th place, 200 Free 5th place, and 100 Fly 3rd place.
Junior Boys: Latham Johnson: 50 Free 8th place, 50 Breast 7th place, and 50 Back 7th place.
Junior Girls: Avonlea Andersen: 50 Free 10th place and 50 Breast 4th place; Dafani Bohmer: 50 Free 8th place, 50 Breast 6th place, and 100 Free 10th place.
Midget Girls: Madison Bird: 50 Breast 11th place; Freestyle Relay: Madison Bird, Natali Bohmer, Azaria Johnson and Kori Pascoe 6th place.
The Sharks have this next weekend off and then will travel to Conrad July 13-14 for the Conrad Invitational.
