It took just four pitches to send the Lady Wolves back to the State Class B Softball Tournament in Belgrade this weekend. Senior Jazmine Spotted Bear struck out the only batter she faced at the Eastern B Divisional Tournament last weekend before the tournament was called because of rain. Because the Lady Wolves entered the tournament as the second seed, they were awarded the second place trophy and a berth at the State Tournament.

Cut Bank will face off with Plains/Hot Springs in their opening game in Belgrade on Thursday at 4 p.m. Plains/Hot Springs is the third seed out of the Western Division. Also on the Lady Wolves side of the bracket is the top seed from the west, Missoula Loyola who faces off with the east’s fourth seed Shepherd.

In other opening round games, the top seed from the east, Huntley Project, takes on Manhattan, the fourth seed in the west. Florence-Carlton, who finished second in the west, will take on the third seed from the east, Conrad/Choteau.
