Cut Bank senior Aryana Black bumps to a teammate Friday night during the Lady Wolves victory over Conrad.

The Cut Bank Lady Wolves picked up a pair of conference wins last weekend as they downed Conrad and Rocky Boy. The Lady Wolves sit with a 2-1 conference record on the year and take on new District 1B member Great Falls Central and perennial powerhouse Fairfield this weekend.

Against Conrad last Friday the Lady Wolves won the first two games 27-25, 25-22 before Conrad rallied for a game three win, 25-18. The Cowgirls dominated the fourth game 25-13 but the Lady Wolves regrouped and squeezed out the 21-19 victory in a back and forth final game.

Jada Doore led the Lady Wolves with nine kills and three blocks while Sam Burke dished out a team-high 14 assists on the night. Camille Bradley led the defense with ten digs and Aryana Black served up four aces in the win.

Saturday the Lady Wolves took on Rocky Boy and made short work of the Stars with a 25-19, 25-23, 25-11 victory.

Black was a force at the net with 10 kills while Shelby BigSpring recorded the lone block at the net for the Lady Wolves. Burke had ten assists to go along with five aces and Bradley was strong defensively with 13 digs.

“We had to fight hard for these conference wins and really go out of our comfort zone,” said head coach Kelsey Brown. “We were affected by injury, sickness and other situations this week that really changed the team. I was very proud of the girls who stepped into new roles. Friday night Sam, Aryana and Jada really stepped up and helped us offensively. Camille had to take on a new role both nights for us, as did Aryana on Saturday. Reagan Wetzel, Paayton Branch and Jackie Waller stepped in and did well in their first varsity showing as well. Hopefully this week we can get back into the routine with a tough weekend ahead of us.”

The Lady Wolves will host Fairfield on Thursday night and travel to Great Falls Central on Friday. Both nights of action are set to get underway at 4:15 beginning with C squad.
