Shelby All-State and First Team All-Conference senior center Jackson Appley snaps the ball to quarterback Taylor Parsons during a Coyotes’ game this season. Parsons was named Second Team All-Conference.

The Shelby Coyotes were well represented on the 8-Man North All-Conference and All-State squads. The Coyotes, who reached the 8-Man semifinal round this season, placed nine athletes on the North’s ‘B’ subdivision.

Senior Jackson Appley along with juniors Aidan Torgerson, Cameron Brusven and Rhett Reynolds were all named to the All-State Team for the 2020 season.

Appley was named to the First Team as a center and a defensive lineman. Torgerson was a First Team fullback and a Second Team linebacker. Brusven earned a First Team nod as a running back, kicker and linebacker. Reynolds was a First Team tight end and defensive back.

Joining that quartet on the First Team were senior Tabris Correa who was a First Team wide receiver, and linebacker and sophomore Joryn Bunnell was named a First Team guard.

Junior Taylor Parsons was named the Second Team quarterback. Sophomores Bryce Lee and Trenton Emerson were named to the Second Team defense as a linebacker and safety, respectively.

All-Conference selections are made by the coaches in each division with coaches unable to vote for their own athletes.
