This weekend the Sharks will be hosting the Divisional Swim Meet, where the team will work hard to qualify for the State Meet.

The Cut Bank Sharks swim team traveled to Chester this past weekend. Eleven Sharks competed at the invitational. There were 263 swimmers in attendance including swimmers from the east side.

The 11-12 year old freestyle relay team consisting of Zac Pascoe, Latham Johnson, Taos Wellman and Cayden Blackman took fourth place. This group has a great chance of making it to the State Swim Meet.

Sierra Freedenburg had another great meet placing sixth overall for the 11-12 age group. Sierra placed fifth in the 50 freestyle, third in the 50 backstroke and second in the breaststroke with a time of 52.57. The coaches will be working with Sierra to better her technique in her freestyle stroke in hopes of placing even higher in the 50 free.

Andrew Andersen, in his ninth and last year of swimming for the Cut Bank Sharks, swam exceptionally well on Sunday scoring 25 points. Andrew went from a 1:28:80 in the 50 breaststroke on Saturday to a 1:21:15 coming in third place. This senior boy’s race had the crowd roaring as he and two other swimmers were neck and neck with just 10ths of a second separating them. Andrew also placed fourth in the 50 fly with a time of 34.45.

The Cut Banks Sharks will be hosting the Divisional Swim meet this next week July 27-28. Stop by the Cut Bank City Pool to cheer on the Sharks in between events of Lewis and Clark days and see how well they have been doing this season.
