The Cut Bank Lady Wolves volleyball team split a pair of matches last week as they took down non-conference foe Harlem on Tuesday and fell to Choteau on Thursday. The Lady Wolves will be looking for their first conference win of the season this week as they travel to Conrad and host Fairfield.

Tuesday against the Wildcats the Lady Wolves went the distance as they won the match 25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 16-25 and 15-12. 

Paayton Branch led the team with 14 digs and six aces. Sofia Bertei followed with 11 digs, 11 assists and four aces. Kendra Spotted Bear and Erin Schmidt each tallied four kills while Schmidt and Addisyn Harrell each recorded two blocks. 

Thursday the Choteau Bulldogs made short work of the Lady Wolves as they swept the home team 25-14, 25-13 and 25-9. 

Makenna Burke returned to action for the Lady Wolves and served up four aces in the loss to go with two assists. Spotted Bear led the defense with eight digs followed by Branch with six. Darci Littrell tallied three kills followed by Schmidt and Spotted Bear with two each and Schmidt recorded all three of the Lady Wolves’ blocks in the match. 

The Lady Wolves will be in Conrad on Thursday this week and host Fairfield on Saturday. Play begins at 4 p.m. in Conrad with the C squad match, followed by the JV and varsity matches; and 1 p.m. on Saturday when Cut Bank hosts Fairfield. Once again, the C squad will play first followed by the JV and varsity teams.
