The Shelby Coyotes volleyball team had a busy week, playing Choteau, Cut Bank, and Fairfield and posting a 1-2 record.
Thursday, Sept. 17, the Lady Coyotes traveled to Choteau, and ran in to the perennially tough Bulldogs, losing 25-12, 25-12, 25-18. The Coyotes started slow, but put together two competitive games. The spikers were led by Maddison Underdal with five kills and three blocks. Vivi McDermott led the team with five assists and Jaci Johannes had two of the teams three aces. Jori Clary came up with 16 digs, and Blair Luly had three kills.
Friday, Sept. 18, the Coyotes hosted the Cut Bank Lady Wolves, and made quick work of them, earning the win, 25-15, 25-20 and 25-11. Underdal led the team in kills, blocks and aces, while McDermott led in assists, and Clary led in digs.
Saturday, Sept. 19, the Coyotes squared off against the Eagles, and couldn’t find their stride, losing 25-10, 25-14, 26-24. Clary and Cami Blevins each had four assists to lead the team. Underdal led in blocks and digs, and McDermott once again led in assists. Adria Lamb, Underdal and Blevins each had one ace.
“We had a busy weekend with three matches and had a lot of ups and downs. We are working on finding that consistency. We are ready to get back to practice and work on the areas that need improving,” said head coach Lexy Fisher.
Shelby will take to the court again Thursday, hosting Great Falls Central. Games will start at 4:15 p.m. Saturday they will travel to Havre with games starting at 1 p.m.
