The Cut Bank Lady Wolves Softball Team went 0-3 in varsity action last weekend in Lewistown, dropping games to Lewistown, Huntley Project and Colstrip while the JV team defeated Havre. 

The local diamond dwellers couldn’t get their bats going against Lewistown and dropped the game 10-0. Sienna Spotted Bear recorded the only two hits for the Lady Wolves in the game with a pair of doubles. 

Jazmine Spotted Bear faced 18 batters in three innings of play and gave up seven hits and two earned runs. Sam Burke pitched the final two innings and gave up four hits and four earned runs while striking out two batters. 

Cut Bank fell behind 1-0 against Huntley Project after one inning of play and 2-0 after three innings. The Lady Wolves tied the game at 2-2 after the fourth inning before giving up seven runs in the fifth inning. Huntley went on to cruise to the 13-4 victory. 

Sienna Spotted Bear, Jada Doore and Jazmine Spotted Bear each recorded two hits in the loss while Hannah Fetters and Burke each slapped out one. 

Jazmine Spotted Bear pitched four innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs while striking out five batters. Burke pitched the final three innings, giving up nine hits and six earned runs while walking three and striking out four batters. 

Cut Bank took a 1-0 lead after the first inning against Colstrip, but then gave up seven runs in the second inning and another four in the fourth inning as the Lady Wolves dropped the game 12-2. 

Fetters and Jazmine Spotted Bear recorded the only two hits for the Lady Wolves while Spotted Bear also got the start in the circle. She gave up six hits and five earned runs in two innings of play. Burke pitched four innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs while striking out four batters. 

In JV action the Lady Wolves fell behind 7-2 after two innings of play but stormed back to take the 8-7 victory. 

Aryana Black led the offense with a double and a single while Sienna Spotted Bear recorded a pair of singles. Burke, Haylee Kropp and Shelby Big Spring also recorded singles in the win. Brianne Murphy was walked three times and stole five bases while Sadie Pepion and Tayleigh Running Fisher each had two steals. 

Burke pitched two innings and gave up four hits and three earned runs. Sienna Spotted Bear pitched four innings in the win and gave up two hits while striking out seven batters. 

The Lady Wolves will be in Conrad on Thursday for a triangular before taking the holiday weekend off.
