The Cut Bank track and field teams hosted their annual Booster Invitational Meet last Saturday and the boys squad earned the team title as they earned 134 points to finish ahead of Class A Havre (111) and Browning (69). The girls team finished fourth out of the 11 teams competing with 41 points.
The boys were led by all-around performances from Bauer and Brant Seewald. Bauer finished atop the field in the long jump, setting a personal record of 19-07 and he also cleared a personal best 6-02 in the high jump to claim first place. Bauer also placed second in the triple jump (31-11.75) and fifth in the 200 (25.49). Brant set a personal record in the pole vault, clearing 10-07 to capture first place. He also recorded a personal best of 36-01 in the shot put to place sixth while he finished the 100 in 12.65 to place seventh.
Devin Schultz earned top honors in the 400 with a time of 56.31 while also placing fifth in the 1600 (5:17.99) and eighth in the 800 (2:31.23). Elijah Greene finished first in the 3200 with a time of 13:14.60 while teammate Rhett Michael finished second in 13:55.
Hayden Hedges earned a pair of fourth place finishes in the long jump (18-04.5) and triple jump (35-07) while also running a leg on the 4x100 relay with Skyler Peterson, Brock Barcus and Garrett Torok, finishing first with a time of 47.36. Peterson placed fifth in the high jump (5-02) and eighth in both the long (17-07) and triple (32-07). Torok finished fifth in the 100 (12.19) and sixth in the 200 (25.52) and also ran a leg on the second place 4x400 relay with Schultz, Henry Gannon and Jacob Hjartarson. Hjartarson had a pair of fourth place finishes of his own, in the 400 (57.13) and 800 (2:20.32)
Jackie Waller led the girls team with a pair of second place finishes in the hurdles races. Waller finished the 100 in 19.25 and the 300 in 53.96 to earn runner-up honors. Waller also placed sixth in the 200 with a time of 31.07.
Stephanie Anderson placed third in the 100 (14.28), fourth in the 200 (30.76) and sixth in the shot put (22-08). Stefani Bohmer had a toss of 25-05.5 in the shot put to place fourth while her distance of 55-0.5 in the discus was good for sixth place.
The Wolves and Lady Wolves are back in action this Thursday as they host a Pre-Easter Meet before the holiday weekend.
